CAMBODIA
PHNOM PENH is the capital and largest city in Cambodia. It is located on the banks of the Mekong River. It was known as the “Pearl of Asia” during the French colonial period during which they built it. Phnom Penh was founded in 1434 and is noted for its beautiful architecture and beautiful temples.
SIEM REAP
When we visited Siem Reap (Defeat of Siam) in 1994, it was still a very worn down, humble village with modest accommodations. We have heard it has since become quite modernized.
