EUROPE
We have dear friends in a tiny village outside of Salzburg, Oberhofen, where we like to visit. Also Claudio, “our monk,” is at Kremsmunster, the gorgeous Benedictine monastery near Linz. We try to visit every few years.
Did you know that Bruges has more canals than Venice? We have visited a few times and find it an enchanting place with excellent food.
In 2007 we decided to return to Croatia, having been to Zagreb in the winter of 2003 for Davis Cup.

Part of our yearly swing on the tennis tour, we spend some time in London every year where Bud covers Wimbledon.
France is a wonderful place where we have had countless adventures. Home of one of the four majors, Paris figures in our annual travel plans. It is, with good reason, one of the greatest cities of the world.
Being half Italian, I always feel at home in Italy. It is one of the very few places where I would dearly like to live.
Russia – what a place. We had been several times in the late fall when it was always grey, snowing and cold. Then, in 2006, we went in September for a Davis Cup tie and what a difference. It was marvelous. Sun, flowers, a blue sky. I love the architecture of Russia, the museums and cultural offerings in Moscow.
In 2009 we decided to celebrate Bud’s 80th birthday by ballooning in Switzerland with great pals, Sibby and Bob Brasler. Our capable Captain and his wife, Mary and Stan Hess from the US. The tour included stops in Appenzell, Switzerland; Lustenau, Austria; Heiden to lunch with photographer Patrick Loertscher and his wife, Monica; Kandersteg; Nieder-Simmenthal Valley and Gstaad where Bud celebrated his 80th birthday with Roy and Joy Emerson.
