Capital of the province of Cordoba in Andalucia, southern Spain, Cordoba, with a population in 2011 of 330,033 has many sites of architectural importance. During the 10th and beginning of the 11th century, Cordoba was the most populous city in the world and during that time was the intellectual center of Europe.
