More perfect weather, stunning scenery. We realize how very fortunate we were with the weather, to be able to see all the dazzling views which would not have been accessible in rain ….

Day two was the longest and highest part of the trek, 15 kms (9.2miles) and 1,300m (4,264′) at Harris Saddle. We went from Lake Mackenzie Hut to Routeburn Hut, a long day.
