TASMANIA

Australia Tasmania Cradle Mountain Track

One of the iconic treks of the world, the OVERLAND TRACK in Tasmania is well worth doing. It takes six days, covers 65 km (40 miles) of gorgeous scenery in the Cradle Mountain area. The Overland Track is one of Australia’s most famous bush walks, situated in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National ParkTasmania. Aside from the main track there are also several alternative side tracks, including to the summits of Cradle Mountain and Mount Ossa, the tallest mountain in Tasmania which I did. The add ons made the trek 82 km.

At the edge of Mt William National Park, in Tasmania’s north east, the magnificent wilderness coastline known as the Bay of Firesis the setting for this wonderful four day trek along the pristine coast with white sand, turquoise surf, orange lichens, camping and a luxurious eco lodge at the end, Bay of Fires Lodge.

“Tassie,” as it is referred to by its residents, is a perfect little land…. a mini New Zealand in my opinion. Isolated, clean, beautiful scenery and mountains.
